I am a Threat Intelligence Engineer at Abnormal Security, developing state-of-the-art cybercriminal intelligence collection and distribution tools for advanced threat research. I achieved my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering & Computer Science at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University under the supervision of Dr. Jiawei Yuan. Before that, I received my M.S. degree from Johns Hopkins University in 2015 and B.Eng. degree from Tongji University in 2014. In 2018, I started to work as a Research Intern at Agari Data, Inc., reporting to Dr. Markus Jacobsson. Starting from late 2018, I started to work with Crane Hassold and dedicate my time on Business Email Compromise (BEC) threat actor invesigation. My academic research interests mainly focus on data privacy, secure cloud computation and IoT security under conventional client-cloud model as well as trending machine learning / deep learning based scenarios. I am also interested in other security related areas such as phishing, blockchain, intrusion detection/prevention systems, penetration testing, and cryptography etc.
